Product information

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) is a naturally occurring coenzyme central to cellular redox reactions and energy metabolism. Direct NAD+ administration has a limited and emerging clinical literature; research on NAD+ precursors should not be treated as equivalent evidence for direct NAD+.

Storage & preparation

Before mixing
Keep the sealed dry vial refrigerated at 2–8°C, protected from light and moisture. For longer storage, use −20°C when supported by the batch documentation. NAD+ can be unstable in aqueous solution: prepare only under a validated laboratory protocol, keep prepared solution refrigerated and protected from light, minimise repeated warming and use within the validated stability window.
After mixing
Refrigerate at 2–8°C and protect from light. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Preparing the vial
For analytical laboratory preparation only. Use the solvent, pH range and concentration specified by the batch COA or a validated protocol. Add solvent gently, protect the solution from light, verify clarity and record the prepared concentration. Because aqueous NAD+ stability is time- and condition-dependent, prepare only what the protocol requires. Not for human or veterinary use.

Light-sensitive coenzyme — prepare under a validated laboratory protocol.

Research information

What Is NAD+?

NAD+ is the oxidised form of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, a coenzyme used throughout cellular redox chemistry and energy metabolism. It also serves as a substrate for enzymes involved in signalling and DNA-maintenance pathways.

Why Is It Being Researched?

NAD availability changes with cellular state, making it relevant to mitochondrial function, metabolism and ageing-related research. Direct NAD+ and NAD+ precursors are distinct interventions and should be evaluated separately.

Evidence Note

Human evidence for direct NAD+ administration remains limited. A recent randomised study examined direct NAD+ in ischaemic cardiomyopathy, while older-adult studies more often evaluate precursors such as nicotinamide riboside. See the direct NAD+ trial and a randomised nicotinamide-riboside study.

Frequently asked questions

Is NAD+ for research use only?

Yes. This product is supplied strictly for laboratory research and is not sold for human or veterinary use.

Where can I find batch testing information?

Available identity, purity and measured-content data are shown with the batch Certificate of Analysis where documentation is available.

For research use only.
